Tamborine Mountain offers its residents an enviable lifestyle. Close enough to the Gold Coast and Brisbane
for easy access, Tamborine nonetheless is a place apart. Because of its unspoiled beauty and superb climate,
for more than a century it has been a getaway from the city. As a result, there is plenty to enjoy in the
village atmosphere of Tamborine Mountain.
Restaurants abound. Within 5 minutes of Mingara you can eat Italian, Mexican, Thai, Egyptian, French, Chinese,
Polish, Brazilian, Swiss, or a host of modern Aussie cuisine. You can eat at roadside cafes or on verandas
facing the ocean or the Great Dividing Range.
There are nine sections of National Park on Tamborine Mountain to go exploring, but Mingara's own primeval
forests and the adjacent sections of the Tamborine National Park are considered
the mountain's finest and most diverse.
For sports lovers, it takes 5 minutes to get to golf, a challenging and scenic course. Tennis, cricket,
bowls, horseback riding and rugby are all popular here, and Tamborine is Queensland's hang gliding center.
Tamborine's village environment has attracted many artisans and there is an active community in theatre,
music, and painting. The Zamia Theatre hosts local productions as well as international acts, movies and
special events.
It is a short trip to some of the world's best beaches and the diverse entertainment that makes the Gold
Coast Australia's top tourist destination.
