Mingara is located on the edge of Tamborine Mountain, one of Queensland's most sought after places to
live.
Tamborine Mountain is 35 minutes west of the Gold Coast and less than one hour south of Brisbane, Queensland's
capital. Its 500-metre elevation makes it a place apart. The population is about 6000, with an exceptionally
high number of residents born elsewhere and attracted to the village environment.
Within a few minutes of Mingara are numerous award winning restaurants and cafes, wineries, galleries,
schools, 9 national parks, and a golf course.
Climate: Many Australians believe Tamborine has the finest climate in Australia, with four mild seasons
and an average annual daytime temperature of 22c. Summers are 3-5 degrees cooler than the lowlands yet
Mingara never has winter frost. Nights are cool enough even in summer that very few homes have air conditioning
and enjoy the serenity of a winter fireplace.
A Development Control Plan severely limits future population growth and Mingara is the last rural residential
subdivision ever to be allowed under the plan.
